When my carpool mom days ended, I was so excited to get back to being an artist. On a whim, or inspiration, I bought a book on Encaustic painting. I learned that Encaustic is an ancient technique of painting with layers and layers of tinted wax mixed with damar resin. As a beekeeper the idea of painting with beeswax and a blow torch thrilled me! The tactical and organic aspects of working with wax are just so wonderful and unpredictable.
After spending 16 years in California, Jim and I “retired” to a small farm here in Franklin. We happily sit on the front porch, keep honeybees and raise donkeys. I am just oh so blessed to be Home and to be a part of the 202 family!
